Our School

Our motto is “To empower students with a solid academic and cultural foundation to succeed in society.” Located 25 miles southwest of the Four Corners (UT, CO, AZ, NM), in a rural setting, our district creates a peaceful, involved community, which is great for fostering learning for our students. To learn more about each school, please visit the Red Mesa Unified District #27 website.

We believe in strong academic programs that supplement our regular curriculum. In addition to reading, writing, math, social studies, and science, we offer the following electives:

  • Physical Education—According to the CDC, youth physical activity is… ”one of the most important steps to being healthy.” Some of the benefits include promoting positive mental health, decreasing childhood obesity, and increasing bone density. We couldn’t agree more here at Red Mesa Elementary, so we offer our students the opportunity to become physically active. Please read more about the role our school plays in helping your child stay physically fit.
  • Navajo Language and Culture—Keeping the Navajo language alive and vibrant is very important to our culture and to understanding our history. We recognize the importance of teaching our children their heritage.
  • Technology and Computer—In today’s ever-changing, fast-paced world, it is important that we empower our students with the most up-to-date technological information available. We know it is never too early for our students to be exposed to these important tools so they can embrace the future.
